State wise list of Directors disqualified by Registrar of Companies

ROC disqualified Directors for non compliance of the Companies Act, 2013.

Recently Ministry of Corporate Affairs has taken cleanup drive against the shell companies and to close the companies which in defaulting in their annual compliance of filling the returns. The Registrar of Companies (ROC) of different states have struck off around 2 Lac companies from their registers. Government has also issued advisory to Bank to freeze the Bank accounts of those companies which are being struck off due to filing compliances. 

Consequently, Ministry of Corporate Affairs has also taken action against the directors who were associated with those companies which were been struck off.

Around 1 Lac Directors who were associated with those companies are being disqualified from being director in other companies pursuant to Section 164(2) of the Company Act, 2013.

Section 164(2) of the Company Act, 2013 says (Reference drawn from 274(1)(g) of the Companies act, 1956):

164 (2) No person who is or has been a director of a company which—

(a) has not filed financial statements, or
     annual returns for any continuous period of three financial years;

(b) has failed to repay the deposits accepted by it, or pay interest thereon or
to redeem any debentures on the due date or pay interest due thereon or
pay any dividend declared and such failure to pay or redeem continues for one year or more,
shall be eligible to be re-appointed as a director of that company or appointed in other company for a period of five years from the date on which the said company fails to do so.
